SAYING HI TO THE MIDWIFE TODAY

Lacy's midwife went on holiday shortly after Keera was born. Now that she's back she wants to see Lacy and Keera again... just to see how they are doing.

So that's what us girls will be doing this morning.  

After visiting Debs we are going to Botany Downs for the hell of it... Bex wants to visit Baby City and there is one at Botany.

This afternoon I want to continue working on my current sewing project... so I'm looking forward to that.

Keera got a lovely new knitted set in the mail yesterday... so of course we had to take a few photos of her in it eh? ...

Back... after a long morning out and about.
First off we visited the midwife so she could catch up with Lacy and Keera, I got a GORGEOUS photo of Debs and Keera:

ABOVE:  Debs and Keera... I really love this photo.  Debs is one of the most lovely girls I have ever met... her face radiates happiness.
And she's a darn good midwife.

After visiting Debs we went over to Botany Town Centre and had lunch.  OMG, we found a new place ... never seen one before:

 ABOVE:  a long line of ice cream dispensers... that have different flavoured yogurt in them... you just choose the size tub or cone you want, and help yourself to whatever frozen yogurt you want...

ABOVE:  or what lollies and or syrups you want... and there was over 4 dozen choices!!!!!.. then you pay...

What an amazing idea.
THE KIDS are going to love it... there is one in Mission Bay too. 
Some how I don't think we will be going to Movenpik so often now!

Day is winding down... we had a lovely dinner of chicken drumsticks and potatoe/vege fritters.  Was yum.

Once Coronation Street is over I am going down to the garage to sew for a little while.

GOOD LUCK TO BRYLEE TODAY

Miss Brylee is representing her school in Cross Country running today!
Stew has taken the day off work so he can help with transporting our school kids to the event.
And of course, he wants to be there to cheer our girl on.

She came 3rd in her school for her age.... so while we don't expect her to win, she is still going to have a good time.  She is a good little runner.  She got her running genes from Lacy of course!

I could NEVER run much at all... always had a problem with BOOBS.  lol

While they are out in the countryside in the mud, I shall be at the Hospice Shop... trying NOT to spend any money on unnecessary shit.
*smiles*

After the shop... I am going to visit Lacy and Keera... and maybe bring them back to mine for dinner.
We are expecting Bex sometime this afternoon too.

ABOVE:  I saw this on Facebook last night!  It's awesome... such a good idea!  I am going to make me one... just as soon as I can find the time.
I am going to put the year of birth on one side, and the Name and Date on the other.  Hopefully I can find the materials I will need cheaply at Spotlight.

ABOVE:  today's treasure... a little black dress for Brylee, a t-shirt that Lacy grabbed, a cute wee shirt for Baby SJ, two necklaces, a glass bucket (could be used for anything really) and an amazing jug!  It's 'numbered' so probably worth a darn sight more that the $2 I paid!

CRANKY: WOW, ya like something !!

So... Stew was home... so we went grocery shopping.  OMG shopping for groceries makes me so damn crabby.  I HATE IT.... not the buying it so much as loading it into the car, then getting it out and putting it away... I loathe it.
I've just had a bit of a hissy fit at everyone... I even threatened to tip diet coke on Bex's head. Over it.  Got a sore back .... it went into a spasm at work this morning and now it's really sore.

Dinner is in the oven too... lamb chops in thick mint sauce.... Yummy.

End of Day: So... dinner is over, kids are in bed, and I'm going to bed too.  Rather tired tonight... and me feet hurt.

CHANGE TABLE AND A SEAHORSE!

The other day Steve picked up their Baby Change Table... and like the cot before it... he just HAD to assemble it... in me lounge... *sigh*

ABOVE:  almost done... and now it's in the garage like the cot!  I am sure it will be used for many years... as their baby boy won't be an only child I'm sure!  lol

ABOVE:  this is what I made last night.  It's the third panel of the Cot Bumper Set I'm making for Steve and Bex.  She loves seahorses, so I'm sure she will love it.

ABOVE:  Poor Coco, she's starting to feel pregnant I reckon!  She is doing lots of stretching out like this... it gives her more room to breathe!  She's got about 20 days to go... OMG it's getting close.  

TODAY:  well... as the weather is still the pitts, I'm taking Steve to work then dropping the kids off at school... THEN I have to take Stew's car back to the Dealers as it's been recalled due to some Holden models failing brake tests... and our Viva is one of the models recalled.  
I then have to 'kill' about 3 hours while it's tested.

Oh dear, I'm sure I will find it ever so difficult wandering around the mall for 3 hours!  *sad*  lol

ONWARD...

When I got to the Holden dealership, they said the car would be 4 hours... so I thought... shit that's too long to just wander around the mall... so I went to a movie.
The only movie starting nice and early was The Bourne Legacy, not a movie I was actually dying to see, but I went anyway...

ABOVE:  I didn't expect to like it... Matt Damon wasn't the 'hero' anymore... and I was prepared to hate it....  But I actually thought it was quite a good movie... if you like:

LOTS OF CAR CHASES... ONLY THIS TIME IT WAS MOTORBIKES....

AND BIG EXPLOSIONS TOO.

On a 1 to 10 scale, I give it an 8.  Now that I'm home it's time to watch Home and Away that was taped last night, then do some more sewing.

Awww, sadness.  One of my most favourite actors died on Monday.  

Michael Clarke Duncan  passes away aged 54.  Rest in Peace Dude.

End of Day:  I was going to continue working on my sewing project tonight, but shit it's gotten cold all of a sudden!  So I'm going to bed early instead ... with the electric blanket on too!

I gave Emily her quilt yesterday.  I didn't expect Emily to be interested in it at all ... she is only a toddler afterall...

While we were sorting out my linen cupboards we found a couple of 'dress up' costumes I'd bought yonks ago from the Hospice Shop... so Rena left a happy girl with two new dress ups to wear...

Today, well I'm taking everyone to work and school then picking Lacy up as she has a Dr's appointment. 
Then I'm coming home to do the housework and some sewing.

NANCY:   who I highly doubt is in NY, or even that it's your REAL NAME... What business is it of yours what I have made or not made for any of my grandkids???  I am not even going to bother telling YOU the answer to your question, as it's NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS.

All done with taking family here and there... time to sort out some housework... and OMG it's the most horrendous day in relation to RAIN!  It's coming down sideways in bucket loads.  Glad I'm inside.

CRANKY:  simple.  Read it from my point of view... the underlying attitude of her comment is critical and sarcastic.  AND this is not the first time 'Nancy' has left a bitchy comment... intimating that I have somehow neglected Rena over Emily.  

For the first time in weeks, my batteries literally ran out after lunch, and I had to have a nap.  My eyes just would NOT stay open!   Hopefully the hour nap will not affect my ability to go to sleep tonight!

End of Day:  I've spent the evening sewing, which was lovely.
Time to hit the sack, very tired now.

FATHER'S DAY.... OH YAAAA

Kinda half hearted about today... cos we cannot have everyone together in the one place at the same time. 

Certain things stand in the way of that.  Things out of my control utterly... so I just have to get over it.

Still rankles though.

I was up till after midnight last night... sewing.  Just got in the groove and lost track of time... easy to do when you are enjoying what you are doing.

I started work on the cot bumper set to match the cot quilt I've made for Steve and Bex's baby boy.  So, I got the first panel done:

ABOVE:  Meet 'Froggy'... isn't he just darling??
Well... I think he is.  I'm going to add a flying bug above his tongue ... hee hee.

It's highly doubtful I shall get any more work done on the bumper set today... we are expecting Kelly and Rena, Amanda, Andrew, Huston, Joel and Emily some time this morning, and later on this afternoon Lacy, Keera and Steve.  Bex is working, so she will be absent.

I'm making scones for lunch... which will keep me busy for a while.   I plan on making cheese scones, savoury scones and raisin scones... so everyone's tastes should be covered.

MARGIE UK:  in answer to your question... I made my first quilt in June 2008.  I used block patterns that I got off the internet.  I didn't really know what I was doing, but it came out ok anyway!
I got the top done before I had a big surgery, and as I was feeling like I might die from the surgery (I knew I would hemorrhage) I had asked a good friend of mine to finish it for me if I died!

Sounds dramatic, but I just knew something would go wrong... and it did!  I had a massive hemorrhage and after that I got a blood clot in my lung.... luckily I dodged both bullets and was able to go home and finish the quilt myself! lol


If you want to see my first quilt top, it's on my post dated:  Wednesday 18th June 2008.  The story of my fun trip to hospital is also in June of that year, I think about 2 weeks after I finished the quilt top.

First wave of visitors been and gone... some photos ....

ABOVE:  I asked Stew to do ONE thing for me today, and that was make the lamp beside him stand up straight... it's been on a lean for ages. His solution?  Stuck his arm out and pushed it upright and held it there... smart arse.

ABOVE:  Amanda and Andrew.  Her 'bump' is 18 weeks along tomorrow.  I took photos of her bump (as I do) but I'll put them on tomorrow's post as there is heaps on here already.

 ABOVE:  full house.  Emily got her new quilt... and I took heaps of photos of her with that too.... they will be on tomorrow's post too.

ABOVE:  like all toddlers, Emily really loved the baby... and did not want to give her back.

ABOVE:  time to go... and Emily knows how to slide down the stairs.  

As someone mentioned, Lacy did come over in the morning, she wanted to be here after all.  She had not seen Amanda's kids in a very long time, so wanted to see them.

Expecting Steve and Bex home soon. 
And once they were home they helped me tidy up my linen cupboards, which was great as they were getting outta hand!

I've got heaps of stuff to sort out in the garage too... as we simply do not have enough storage space, I am now storing surplus stuff in the garage.  

End of Day:  thankfully the day went like clockwork... and we juggled visitors well.  
I did a lovely beef casserole for dinner which everyone really liked.  I don't make yukky ones very often!
